Tulsa (OK) Chapter

The vision of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service.  Our MISSION is to empower our communities in which we work.  Our GOALS are to increase partnerships and address areas of need.

This past year, The Tulsa(OK) Chapter of the The Links, Incorporated implemented the following initiatives.

Get Out the Vote initiative – This  initiative gave the chapter the opportunity to motivate, educate and register voters for the general election.  Great partnerships were established with Metropolitan Baptist Church, Morton Comprehensive Health Services and Tusa Community College.

Anti-Bulling Session at Gilcrease Elementary – The focus of the Anti-Bullying session was to empower youth with tools and skills to address bullying in all forms.

Volunteered at the Annual Community Baby Shower – The Annual Community Baby Shower honored and educated expecting mothers and parents of young infants.

2018 – 2019 Activities

STEAM initiative- The Tulsa (OK) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and their new friends of Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance collaborated to facilitate the M for Math Session. The topic was about Fibonacci. He was an Italian mathematician from the Republic of Pisa, considered to be “the most talented Western mathematician of the Middle Ages”. The 4th grade girls were able to experience hands-on exercises with patterns and sequences in a fun way. The class was very interactive and engaging.

Starter Appliance Kits – The Chapter partnered with Habitat for Humanity to supply starter appliance kits for five new homes built with deserving families during June 2018 to December 2018.
